The SBA All-Stars Invited to Compete Against Europe's Top Teams

Washington, DC - The Street Basketball Association has announced that it will represent the United States at the Copenhagen International Basketball Gala in Copenhagen, Denmark which runs from September 23rd-29th, 2003. The International Gala is one of Europe's biggest tournaments consisting of top professional teams from 7 different countries around the world. The SBA All-Stars will be having a 2-week training camp to prepare themselves for the upcoming tournament.

Participating teams include the following

Pool A:
BF Copenhagen (Denmark) Tournament Host Representing Denmark's First Division
Bonn Telekom (Germany) Top Team in Germany's First Division
Real Madrid (Spain) Team Representing Spain's First Division
US All Star Team (USA) Coached by John Starks of the Westchester Wildfire, USBL

Pool B:
Hapoel Jerusalem (Israel) Team Representing Israel's First Division
SBA All-Stars (USA)
Krka Novo Mesto (Slovenia) Top Team in Slovenia's First Division
lker Istanbul (Turkey) Top Team in Turkey's First Division


The SBA All-Stars will have an excellent opportunity to play in front of NBA and International scouts and team representatives looking to sign top American talent. Once again, the Street Basketball Association is taking the street basketball industry to another level; showcasing the best street ball legends and professional ball players on an international stage, in an organized, competitive environment to compete, entertain, and to see what cities have the best talent and teams in the world.

"This will definitely be some of the toughest international competition we have ever faced," states Matthew Rosner, Director of Basketball for the SBA. "This opportunity gives us a chance to build on our SBA infrastructure globally as we continue to find ways to spread our SBA mission of spearheading the growth and development of street ball worldwide."
