SBA All-Stars Bring Excitement to NBA Jam Session Center Court
and the Las Vegas Magic Fashion Show
Lights, camera, actionthe spotlight was on the SBA All-Stars the Week of February 13th-18th as the Street Basketball Association was featured at the Magic Fashion Show in Las Vegas and the NBA All-star Weekend in Denver. The SBA All-stars spent three days in Las Vegas promoting the launch of the SBA Nothin But Net Street Ball apparel line all the while taking pictures and signing autographs for thousands of fans. Throughout the few days in Vegas it was common to see hundreds of people lined up at the SBA/NBN booth with fans eagerly waiting to see the new apparel line as well as getting an opportunity to meet the SBA All-stars.
Rashid Byrd, aka 7 & Sum Change, Andre Poole, aka Silk, Randy Gill, aka White Chocolate, David Bailey, aka Rodman, Patrick Robinson, aka Pat Da-Roc, and Brian Mills, aka X-Rated had a chance to model the SBA/NBN street ball line while making appearances with the following celebrities: Flavor Flav, Nelly, Cedric the Entertainer, John Witherspoon, and Ronaldo Ray. All in all the SBA gained tremendous exposure out in Vegas with fans, celebrities, distributors, buyers, stores, and manufactures. Watch out for the SBA/NBA Nothin But Net street ball line coming to a store near you in late spring.
After a few productive days in Vegas the SBA All-Stars were off to Denver to participate at the NBA All-Star Weekend on Jam Sessions Center Court at the Convention Center. The SBA Sports and Entertainment Group and NBA Entertainment worked together to bring the SBA Show to Denver as additional programming for the NBA Jam Session festivities. The SBA matched two teams of SBA All-Star street ball legends head-to-head to give NBA Jam Session fans an opportunity to see some of the top street ball players in the world.
The two teams featured New York Rucker Park Legend Malloy The Future Nesmith, D.C. Legend and EBC Rucker Park leading scorer Greg The Wizard Jones, SBA All-Star and AND 1 Player Hugh Baby Shaq Jones, EBC Rucker Park MVP Corey Homicide Williams, and SBA All-Star and AND 1 Street Ball Live Player David Rodman Bailey on one team while Baltimore Legend, MTV/Magic Johnson Whos Got Game, SBA All-star and AND 1 Street Ball Live Player, Andre Silk Poole, Street Wise Freestyle Expert Entertainer, Patrick Pat Da-Roc Robinson, EBC Rucker Park Champion Fat Joes Terror Squad, Charles Flat Out Ward, and SBA All-star and Got Milk commercial Rashid 7 & Sum Change Byrd lead the way for the second team.
From the opening jump fans at the Jam Session witnessed some of the most exciting street ball action on the court with a number of high flying dunks and alley-oups as well as seeing some of the latest and most innovative street ball dribbling, moves, tricks, and passes. At half-time over 25 kids had a chance to come down onto center court and play one-on-one with their favorite SBA All-Star while other players and NBA Entertainment Staff were throwing over 500 t-shirts into the crowd. After the game the SBA All-Stars stayed on the court and went into the crowd to take pictures and sign autograph for the enthusiastic fans. The Street Basketball Association would like to thank NBA Entertainment including Matt Pope and Karen Barberan for their support of the SBA Show and the opportunity to market SBA Street Basketball to the NBA fans of Denver who came out to the Jam Session. Being able to perform on a NBA floor with fans who can really relate to us as people and seeing the smiles on the faces of the families we met while taking pictures and signing autographs was really special, states Hugh Baby Shaq Jones. The opportunity the SBA and the NBA presented to all of the street ball legends shows real dedication to the growth and development of the street ball industry."
