Washington, DC – July 20, 2011 – For the past ten years the SBA has spearheaded the growth and development of grassroots basketball in the United States and globally, producing a number of SBA Basketball and Entertainment Properties featuring the top SBA All-Stars and former NBA Players.  With the current NBA “lockout” in effect, the SBA has identified additional opportunities to continue in the role of basketball “promoter” by producing a series of events throughout the United States as well as internationally featuring currently locked-out players.

The SBA will produce the SBA Challenge, “We Got Our Five…Get Yours,” City vs.  City Series.  The SBA will provide a unique platform for current locked out NBA players, professional street ball, and minor league players to represent their home city. We are leveraging relationships with former Legends and currently locked out players, local promoters, corporate sponsors, entertainment industry and television production contacts to make this challenge the premier basketball exhibitions series in the world. These games well be highly competitive and under the guidance and leadership of former professional players and basketball legends.

On the international front the SBA has expanded its operations with the development of the SBA International Basketball Federation, with 30 coalition members representing over 25 countries on 6 continents.  With our SBA partners overseas we are in the process of creating multiple country tours throughout South America and Europe with a roster consisting of current locked out players from the NBA, former Legends, and our SBA All-Stars.

Founded in 2001, the Street Basketball Association has spearheaded the growth and development of the basketball industry globally producing countless events throughout the United States, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa from tours, shows, and demonstrations, to competitions, clinics, and expos entertaining and educating fans worldwide.   The SBA continues to be a leader in the Basketball development/promotions industry globally implementing and offering innovative and creative basketball sports/entertainment properties to the world.
